New Chinese Telecom Law Unlikely to Be Promulgated During 2005

The Telecom Law of China will probably not be promulgated before the end of 2005, as it still has to go through several legislative stages. In September, 2005 a draft of the new law is expected to be submitted to the Standing Committee of the NPC (National People's Congress), after which it will take at least half a year to complete all of the legislative procedures.
